My son needed to feel joy and friendship at his Birthday Party! He enlisted my father (who led my childhood birthday parties) to brainstorm old school games that we could enjoy while masked and physically distancing.
It was with such delight that the 5 boys that joined our party took their assigned seats at our 2 patio tables, marked with placemats to ensure space was maintained. The boys enjoy seated activities, which included Making their own Bouncy Balls (a surprise to my son!), Pass the Parcel (which they got to toss to each other more than pass to make the distance, which they LOVED!) and Decorating Cupcakes to take home to enjoy. To keep the boys attention and to set them up for success, we also had more active games that allowed for more movement, these games were played on marked spots on the patio for spacing and included Balloon Shaving (a novelty for the 7 & 8 year olds π€£) , Surprise Balloon Pop (they were surprisingly, or not, speedy at this!), Popper Challenge, Candle in a Bottle Challenge, and the always successful Silly String Tag.
