Kit Free Birthday Party

Kids participate in a live BINGO game, which requires no supplies being delivered, and entertains kids for 30 minutes. 

Party with ME! will:

  • Guide the participants in making their own Bingo card

  • Host a Bingo game

  • Introduce the birthday child

  • Encourage all participants to share a birthday wish for the birthday child

  • Lead a group singing of “Happy Birthday”

  • Mail a birthday card and gift to the guest of honor 

  • Provide a secure Zoom password protected virtual meeting room

To increase the enthusiasm level, participants are encouraged to bring their ‘good luck charm’ to the party, and dress is a themed manner (like trolls, rainbow, princesses, etc.)

Science Zoom Birthday Party

Kids participate in Science based activities using materials provided by Party with ME! during a 45 minute party.

Party with ME! will lead participants in:

  • Making artificial snow

  • Play of Sticky Hand Challenge

  • Creating beaded friendship bracelets, includes silver charm and age appropriate beads.

  • Introduce the birthday child

  • Encourage all participants to share a birthday wish for the birthday child

  • Lead a group singing of “Happy Birthday”

  • Mail a birthday card and gift to the guest of honor 

  • Provide a secure Zoom password protected virtual meeting room

  • Cookie/Cupcake Decorating (all materials provided)

  • Creating an individualized Bingo card

  • Playing a Bingo game

  • Introduce the birthday child

  • Encourage all participants to share a birthday wish for the birthday child

  • Lead a group singing of “Happy Birthday”

And these days, we’re dealing with 2020 circumstances that require us to stay out of each other’s homes, in small groups even when outside, and always in masks.

My son needed to feel joy and friendship at his Birthday Party! He enlisted my father (who led my childhood birthday parties) to brainstorm old school games that we could enjoy while masked and physically distancing.

It was with such delight that the 5 boys that joined our party took their assigned seats at our 2 patio tables, marked with placemats to ensure space was maintained. The boys enjoy seated activities, which included Making their own Bouncy Balls (a surprise to my son!), Pass the Parcel (which they got to toss to each other more than pass to make the distance, which they LOVED!) and Decorating Cupcakes to take home to enjoy. To keep the boys attention and to set them up for success, we also had more active games that allowed for more movement, these games were played on marked spots on the patio for spacing and included Balloon Shaving (a novelty for the 7 & 8 year olds 🤣) , Surprise Balloon Pop (they were surprisingly, or not, speedy at this!), Popper Challenge, Candle in a Bottle Challenge, and the always successful Silly String Tag.

I still was not sure how invested I was willing to let myself be in this ‘familiar but not the same’ holiday celebration. I am so thankful and grateful that I managed to push through the sadness and loss that I felt for the holiday, because on that Tuesday afternoon I decided that we would CELEBRATE! We must! We can’t miss an opportunity to find and create joy! This is they very message that I want my kids to remember always, for Holidays, Birthdays and any and every occasion.

Adding Covid restrictions to this birthday celebration created an additional challenge to my son’s 8th Birthday, which only meant that I needed to step up my game! I could have done another zoom party, which I successfully did for my daughter’s 10th birthday… but he’s zoomed out! He wanted an in person fun party, he wanted (needed) to forget covid!

Celebrating Turning 10 Virtually!

I hosted a virtual party for her last night, and I’m happy to report that it was a success.

I created a magical environment the same way I do it for in-person parties, I chose a few interactive activities that bring the kids joy, only this time I had to portion each of the items into goodie bags for each guest. We delivered the goodie-bags to each friend in person, a few days in advance of the party so that it would have time to be quarantined before the party. We could have mailed them but this gave Maya an extra opportunity to see her friends, from a distance, which was in itself was a double gift: a gift of something to do and a gift of social interaction. (The two Toronto friends had their kits mailed to them.)

This first video introduces the idea of making an Activity Wish Jar during this time of social distancing. It’s a way to engage the kids and help the conversation move from ‘things we can’t do’ to ‘things we’re looking forward to doing’. It’s got my family focusing on a New Year’s 2020 and planning for fun times! I hope it does the same for you! The second video is an instructional video for the kids on how to make the Wish Jar.
